I needed to find a business that enabled me to work from home which allowed me to care for my disabled partner. Many business models were looked at and rejected for various reasons. Finally I settled on starting a dip mix business which enabled me to create something that had a wide range of uses, tasted great and enabled me to work from home..
I found that the commercially produced dips were lacking in both variety, and more importantly, sufficient flavour. It was at this point I made the critical decision to make the dips in dried form. Selling the dips in dried form meant that they would last longer without the need for adding preservatives. It also meant that vegans, vegetarians, coeliacs, diabetics, lactose intolerant persons and others could enjoy the dips.
Next came the trial and error of creating my own unique recipes and then holding tasting sessions to determine which dips were the best, our own market research if you like. After months of hard work, on March 6, 2010, Going Dippy! officially opened for business.
Following the business philosophy, my dips will never be found in large commercial supermarket chains. I am not interested in pleasing the palates of everyone. What I do promise is that I will deliver full bodied, full flavoured dips that you can enjoy yourself or use as part of your home based party plan business.
Going Dippy! is also an eco-friendly business. The packaging for all of the food products is between 75 and 100 percent recycled material. The paper cups used for the tasting samples are made from reed or sugar cane pulp and are bio-degradable. I use re-freezable ice cubes to keep the samples cool at events so no water is wasted.
Going Dippy! currently produces 21 different dips, a line of gourmet flavoured popcorn, two hot drink mixes and associated gifts and merchandise.

We have specially selected and mixed aromatic herbs and spices to create a wide variety of different and unique combinations for your dipping pleasure.
All of our dried dip mixes retail at £2.50 each and make 1 cup (250 ml). They come in resealable packaging so you can use as much or as little of the dip mix as you like and it can be used for a whole range of fabulous recipe ideas….. check out our recipe section for more information.
